Featured White Wines
Singing Grüner Vetliner $76
The grapes for this Veltliner are grown mainly in loess and gravel soils of the Kremstal region. Their distinctive fruitiness is owed to marked alternating temperatures of the north-south positioned Kremstal: warm air rising from the Danube valley is met by cool air flowing down from the nearby Waldviertel region and along the Krems river. While this warmth influences ripeness and concentrated aromas, the coolness lends strongly to the fresh fruitiness. Thanks to the adding of some Veltliner grapes from the Weinviertel, the wine takes on a light fizzy character.
Burrowing Owl Pinot Gris $64
Luscious and mouth filling with rich peach and orchard fruit flavours and aromas ornamented by butterscotch highlights. Full and smooth on the palate with loads of fruit flavours that continue through a long, tangy citrus finish. Medium bodied and skillfully structured to accompany a wide range of seafood, pasta and other dishes. A richly flavoured, elegant Pinot Gris.
Skimmerhorn Kootenay Crush White $49
This nice blend of Gewürtstraminer and Pinot Gris reveals lychee and berry notes with a wonderful fruity flavor. It is a pleasing accompaniment with pork and seafood dishes.
